MyPuddies are rescues that have become known as my puppy buddies. From a young age I have called them all my puddies as a term of endearment. Puddies is now used as a word defined in dictionaries as the blending the two words, puppy buddies.
Itsy came to Home as a baby puppy buddy and given to prince daddy who was living away from Home in the land of college. Itsy joined prince daddy on his journeys to different lands. One day prince daddy went to a land that did not allow puppy buddies so the prince had to journey back to Home with Itsy so she could live in the kingdom once again with the Queen and King parents of the prince. Prince Daddy had to return to the land of college and find a new place to call home. While he was away from Home, Itsy was pupnapped and was never seen again. This was a very sad day in the kingdom and Prince Daddy has never recovered from the sadness of the loss of Princess Itsy.
Bebe came to Home as a stray. One day Bebe walked into a dentist office with a family. When the family left the office, Bebe was still sitting in the office. The secretary ran out the door and told the family that they forgot their puppy, but the family said she walked in with them and they thought she was for someone in the office since she seemed to belong. The secretary called the local animal shelter and they told her that Queen mommy lost a puppy buddy and maybe she belonged to her. Queen mommy new the office and went straight away to pick her up. Bebe was not the lost puppy buddy, but Queen Mommy took her and brought her to a vet for medical attention because poor Bebe suffered from very bad injuries. Bebe's back was badly burned and one of her eyes had to be removed because it couldn't be healed. Bebe had sadly been abused, but you would have never known this because she was the sweetest and most loving puppy buddy Home has every welcomed. We didn't adopt Bebe; she adopted us. She wanted a forever home and Home is forever, which is where she belonged.
It was a very sad day in Home when Bebe passed over the bridge. When Bebe arrived Home the vet thought she was around eight years old. She lived in Home for 17 years as the queen of her kingdom. She was always a loving foster mom to all young puddies who found their way Home. The Kingdom of Home is never the same with the loss of a pup, but it is a better place because of all the Puddies that found their way Home.
Bitsy came to live with Prince Daddy as a baby puppy buddy again while he was away in the land of college. Queen Bebe was also with the prince and helped raise the new princess. Bitsy was very tiny and became very sick after a few days because she suffered from the dangerous sickness called Parvo. While at the doctor it was found that Itsy was separated from her mom to young and the puppy buddies were not given proper care and love. Bitsy came from a breeder that ran what is called a puppy mill. The doctor said that Bitsy was very sick and would not make it through the night, but with the help and care of the prince Bitsy recovered and because a healthy princess who loved the prince and Queen Bebe very much.
Princess Bitsy stayed in the distant land when Prince Daddy had to return to Home to take care of the King of Home in times of need. Eventually Princess Bitsy had baby puppy buddies and Prince Maggie daughter of Bitsy returned to Home with Queen Bebe to help care for Queen Mommy after the King's journey home.
Maggie came Home as a baby puppu buddy. After the passing of King Paw Paw, she came Home to look after and comfort Queen Mommy. Since Maggie was a baby, Bebe took on the role as her foster fur mom, and they became very close and were always together. Together they protected Queen Mommy and the Kingdom of home. Since Maggie came Home as a baby, she was always called "the baby" and a precious baby she was always. When you asked Maggie who is the baby, she would cuddle under your chin letting you know she was the princess baby of Home. She was always very loving and protective of all in Home.
After the passing of Queen Mommy, Maggie and Bebe traveled and moved around with Prince Daddy who had become King of Home. They became ambassadors of Home meeting other Puddies in kingdoms in far and distant lands. Maggie lived in Home for over 14 years when she passed over the bridge from cancer.
We called her Maggie, but her true name was Maganda which means beautiful in the Tagalog language. She was a beautiful princess, and Home has never been the same without her beautiful love.
Chi came Home as a rescue from a shelter. He was surrendered by his previous owner at about one year old. He is a very hyper puppy and loves to play with toys all the time. Chi had to have dental surgery at the shelter to remove extra teeth because it made his bite difficult to eat. He is a very sweet puppy buddy, but he must have been surrendered because of these reasons. As a puppy, he never wanted to stop playing and wouldn't fall asleep unless he was held like a baby. When we picked him up at the adoption center, it only took a few minutes for him to fall asleep in my arms. With that, I knew he would be my new little prince of Home.
If I would had arrived a few minutes later, I would have missed adopting him because there were several others that also wanted to adopt him. When he arrived Home, Queen Bebe became his foster fur mom and Princess Maggie became his big sister. They all became very close and were always cuddled up together.
Prince Chi is a little older now and his chocolate face has turned to a lighter shade of snow. Even though he is a little older, he is still very much a puppy, loves a good squeaky toy and will play fetch with anyone and everyone all day. After a squeaky toy, his favorite thing is a bath. All you have to say is "take a bath," and he will run straight to the bathtub. Because we had to cuddle him to sleep when he was younger he still needs to cuddle to fall asleep, but its the best part of falling asleep.
Gravey came Home as a stray pup that was dumped out on a rural country road. She found herself at an auto repair shop where a kind person gave her food and water. I went there to do repairs on a car and played with her while I waited. When it was time to pay and leave the owner told me that someone had dumped her and they were trying to get someone to take her home. At the time, all of MyPuddies were small puppy buddies and Gravey was a larger dog and I wasn't sure how she would do with the others, but I took her Home and she became the guardian of the castle.
Ejeb came Home as an adoption from my vet. He was found wondering the streets, he was skinny and had bad dental disease. The vet techs called him Tippy because his legs weren't the steadiest, but I changed his name to Prince Ejeb. He has been in Home for several years now, but it has taken him a while to become comfortable. He suffers from separation anxiety and will eat everything in sight. We assume he was probably abandoned because he doesn't like when anyone and everyone leaves him, and he was probably hungry more often than not. You see in his eyes that all he wants in live is to be loved.
When I saw his photo at the vet stating he needed a forever home, I knew he would be coming Home with me. They told me he was in the back if I wanted to meet him and that is all it took. He is the sweetest little husky chihuahua you would ever meet.
He loves to go for walks, being out in the sun and is always up for a treat. He hates to take a bath but loves to get dried off with a towel. He will play with toys on occasion, but he loves a fluffy warm blanket most of all. He loves to be around people and will sit next to anyone hoping for a little love and affection. He has become best puppy buddies with his brother Chi, and they stick together through think and thin.
Tappy came Home as an adoption from the Humane Society of South East Texas. Tappy was a special little lady. After reading about her back ground, I knew she would be the next queen in a long line of queens of Home. After the passing of Maggie, Home was missing something special, and a void needed to be filled. Maggie was always in charge of Home and both Chi and Ejeb were depressed after the loss of Maggie. We drove to Beaumont, TX with Chi and Ejeb to meet Tappy and they hit it off like it was meant to be.
Tappy was originally adopted from the Human Society when she was a pup and was surrendered after one of her pawrents passed and the other had to move to assisted living. When meeting Tappy, she seemed very frail at the age of 16 years and was on arthritis medication. Her eyesight and hearing wasn't good, but she did well with Chi and Ejeb. I knew her foster mom was going to miss her, and she told me she would keep her as a foster if no one wanted her, but I knew she would be a handful for her because of her age and health issues.
The Humane Society workers, and her foster mom did an interview and asked why would I drive so far for Tappy and asked why I specifically chose her. I told them I wanted to take her Home because I knew no one else would adopt her because of her age. After I met her, she stole my heart, and I knew Home would be her forever after as one of MyPuddies.
Missie came to Home as a rescue adoption from Second Chance Dog Rescue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Missie is a special little lady who has lived a hard life and I knew we needed to bring her Home because we needed her as much as she needed us. It wasn't long after Tappy passed over the bridge and it really was to soon for me, but I knew Missie needed a forever home and Home is forever.
Missie was found on a country road all alone. She was very sick when she was found and it was thought she wouldn't make it. At first the rescue was told she couldn't be saved, but a special vet took a chance on her and was able to rehabilitated her back to health. It took a very long time before Missie could be adopted because she suffered from advanced heart worm disease. She has a strong will and this is what helped her to survive and prove she was worthy of a happy ever after.
Missie was probably a puppy mill dog and was dumped after she had given all she could. She is a forager when she is outside because she had to find food all on her own. She will roam the backyard looking for food even though she will never go hungry again. It makes us sad to think that such a little spirit was left alone on a country road to fend for herself after she had given so much in her life. Today she is well cared for and will have her happy ever after. I know we made the right decision to bring Missie Home because I couldn't imagine Home with out her.
Missie's name is of Greek origins meaning "Honeybee". Even those we consider Missie a princess she is the queen bee of the castle.
Mavis came to Home as an adoption from The Colony Animal Services shelter in The Colony, Texas in the Dallas area. Mavis is a very special senior lady with a very sad story. I saw Mavis on Instagram and decided to repost her story in hopes of finding her a forever home. Two very special souls were trying to save her life after she was deemed as not adoptable. After many attempts, no one was willing to take on the responsibility of a 16 year old senior dog with unknown health issues. If you look at Mavis's face she closely resembles our Tappy. I knew when we adopted Tappy we may not have her for years, but I knew she would bring such joy to Home. When I first saw Mavis I knew she would be coming to live in Home and so it was.
Mavis found her way to a shelter after she was found by a good samaritan under a bush in the hot summer sun. She was suffering from heat exhaustion and found a haven in the shade. Mavis is partially blind, she doesn't hear very well and her nails were so long that they were curling and growing into the pads of her paws. Being 16 years old as an older dog someone had taken good care of Mavis at one time, but later deemed her unworthy of further love and care when they abandoned and dumped her all alone. She is so loving and yearns for attention. When I come home from a hard day of work she runs to me like she is a puppy and loves to rest her head on my lap. She now thinks she is a lap dog and wants to be on the sofa right next to me and her puppy buddy siblings.
Mavis's name is of French origins meaning "Songbird." I have always said Mavis loved to sing to me when she would bark for my attention.
Saffy and Maui came to Home as kittens from a stray mom. Friends to the Kingdom found them an adoption from a rescue in the and brought them to the King. Since they were not comfortable with humans Saffy and Maui took a month to be able to trust the King and the puppy buddies. After finding safety, love and care both Saffy and Maui were knighted as protectors of the Kingdom of Home.
Daisy came to Home as an adoption from our special friends at Second Chance Dog Rescue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana . A good samaritan saw someone selling two puppies out the back of their truck for $50.00. Worried about what could happen to these pups this good samaritan paid for the puppies and brought them to Second Chance Dog Rescue so they could find good homes for them. No one knows the circumstances as to why this happened, but we are so thankful that Princess Daisy found her way to our life.
Princess Daisy is a true princess in every meaning of the word. She is very energetic, playful and has become very spoiled. She is very mischievous and at the same time so very loving. We like to call her our little mama because she cares for everyone like only a loving mother could do. She will go up to anyone and give you love whether you want it or not. You can't help but take all the love she has to give because it all she wants to do all day everyday.
Daisy's name is of Celtic origins meaning Day's Eye. The daisy symbolizes motherhood, childbirth and new beginnings.
Paco came to Home as an rescue adoption from our special friends at Forgotten to Spoiled Rotten Rescue in Burleson, Texas. We don't know much about Paco's past but like so many rescues their past is unknown. We do know he was surrendered to a shelter from his previous family after 10 years. The shelter was told that he was unable to be potty trained. Of course this was probably only a reason to surrender him at the shelter because he has no potty training issues and lets us know when he needs to go outside to potty.
After several months living at a shelter Forgotten to Spoiled Rotten rescue took Paco in since many shelters were closing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He was a favorite at the shelter, but they couldn't get anyone to adopt him. But luckily there was a plan for him.
Although a healthy puppy buddy, Paco does seem to have suffered from mistreatment. He is afraid of a loud voices and will sometimes cower in fear, but we are working on much needed love and kindness so he is coming out of his shell. He now loves to play with the rest of his puppy siblings. His newest breakthrough is that he now sleeps with everyone were before he would sleep alone away from everyone else.
When I return home he cries from excitement until go to him and give him some love and when it is time to eat he knows the schedule and will sing a little song to let me know he is ready. After being with a family for 10 years and living in a shelter for several months, I know Paco suffers from depression, but with time and much love Paco will be able to learn to trust again.
Paco's name is of Spanish/Latin origins meaning Free. The origins of the name Paco is believed to have originated as the nickname of St. Francis of Assisi.
